PrintThe following sums are appropriated: $143,000 for preserving collections; $10,000 for cases, furniture, fixtures, and appliances; $13,000 for heating, lighting, electrical, telegraphic, and telephonic service; $500 for postage stamps and foreign postal cards for the National Museum; $4,000 for repairs of the steam boilers; $600 for rent for workshops; $50,000 for continuing the construction of roads, walks, bridges, water supply, sewerage and for improving the grounds of the National Zoological Park; $9,000 for maintenance of the astrophysical observatory; $17,000 for expenses of the system of international exchanges; $40,000 for continuing ethnological researches among the American Indians; $11,000 for printing labels and blanks and for printing annual volumes of the National Museum; and $1,000 for binding scientific books and pamphlets presented to and acquired by the National Museum Library.
