Summary

The following sums are appropriated: $10,000 for preservation of the collections of the surveying and exploring expeditions of the Government; $3,000 for apartments for mounting and photographing specimens; and $4,500 for repairing the Armory Building to enable the Smithsonian Institution to store and to take care of specimens of precious metals, marbles, building stones, coals, and numerous objects of natural history now on exhibition in Philadelphia. This sum shall be expended under the direction of the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution.
