Summary

The following sums are appropriated; $20,000 for the preservation of the collections of the surveying and exploring expeditions of the Government; $10,000 for new halls required for the Government collections; and $2,500 to complete the heating apparatus of the National Museum. In addition, $67,000 is provided to enable the Smithsonian Institution to participate in the International Exhibition of 1876.
