PrintThe following sums are appropriated: $10,000 for expenses of the system of international exchanges between the United States and foreign countries under the direction of the Smithsonian Institution; $40,000 to continue ethnological researches among the American Indians; $5,600 for finishing and completing the furnishing of the eastern portion of the Smithsonian Institution; $9,000 for heating and lighting the National Museum; $95,000 for the preservation of collections of the National Museum; $2,500 for the preservation of collections in the Armory Building and for preserving the property of the United States Fish Commission contained therein; $40,000 for furniture and fixtures of the National Museum; $200 for the transportation of reports and maps to foreign countries.
