In a communication from Spencer F. Baird, Secretary of the Smithsonian Institute, Congress was informed that the bronze statue of Joseph Henry, late Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution was completed. Congress was invited to attend the presentation and inauguration of the statue on Thursday, April 19, 1883.
