PrintThe National Institute for the Promotion of Science is incorporated. The members of the Institute are: Peter Force, Francis Markoe, jr., Garrett R. Barry, William J. Stone, Daniel Webster, Walter Forward, John C. Spencer, Abel P. Upshur, Charles A. Wickliffe, Hugh S. Legard, John Q. Adams, William C. Preston, John J. Abert, John G. Totten, Aaron O. Dayton, and Lewis Warrington. Provisions are established concerning the obligations and liability of the Institute. Guidelines are established regarding the Institute's Constitution, by-laws, and charter.
