PrintThe Congressional members of the Board of Regents met to discuss the location/plans for the Freer Gallery of Art building and feel that the Regents have the authority to choose the location, within the limits of the Smithsonian grounds, without having to ask Congress. They also examined the plans submitted by Charles A. Platt, architect, and approved them.
