Summary

Richard H. Lytle is appointed Director of Smithsonian Institution Archives which is responsible for the official records of the Smithsonian Institution. He replaced Samuel T. Suratt who resigned on 21 April 1969. Nathan Reingold served as acting director of the Archives until Lytle was appointed to the position.
