PrintDiscusses details surrounding the siting of the Smithsonian Institution's National Air and Space Museum. Early 1950's efforts to select a site to build the Air and Space Museum were not resolved until the latter part of 1958 due to plans a real estate developer had to utilize the first-choice site as a mall on 10th Street, running from Independence Avenue to the Potomac River.
