Suggestions for Russian America Collecting

PrintAt the request of John F. Hartley, Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, Smithsonian Secretary Joseph Henry sends suggestions for collecting activities that would be helpful to scientific investigations, to be distributed to members of an expedition to Russian America. Henry prepared the meteorological suggestions, the ethnological suggestions were done by George Gibbs, and those relating to natural history by Spencer F. Baird.
