Summary

Work consists of six newspaper articles published by the Boston Post in 1855. All have an editorial style and are focused on the work of the Board of Regents, and other Smithsonian-related individuals, including Charles Coffin Jewett. Also discusses the Programme of Organization and other aspects of the Smithsonian's establishment. Following the six articles is a Report of the Senate Judiciary Committee (6 February 1855), published from the National Intelligencer and letters from Benjamin Peirce and Louis Agassiz to the Chairman of the Committee of the House of Representatives upon the Smithsonian Institution.
