Summary

Organizational meeting of the Cosmos Club takes place at the home of John Wesley Powell. On Dec. 13, the Cosmos Club is incorporated under the laws of the District of Columbia. At a meeting held Jan. 6, 1879, in the Club rooms in the Corcoran building, bylaws, rules, regulations and dues will be adopted.
