Adler's autobiography includes reminiscences of early family history, education, work on the Chicago Exposition, travels abroad, and work at the United States National Museum as librarian and curator; recollections of the staff, including George Brown Goode, Samuel P. Langley, and Charles D. Walcott; establishment of the National Collection of Fine Arts; Langley's aerodrome experiments; the Roosevelt African Expedition; and the construction of the National Museum Building.
