The Director of the National Postal Museum begins reporting directly to the Smithsonian's Provost as the NPM achieves full status as a Smithsonian Institution National Museum. Previously, it was a department of the National Museum of American History. Exhibitions at the NPM highlight America's rich postal history. The National Postal Museum is now a member of the International Association of Transport and Communications Museums.
