"Peggy Bacon: Personalities and Places" opens at the National Collection of Fine Arts, now the National Museum of American Art. The exhibition contains 192 paintings, prints, drawings, and pastels. The follies and foibles of mankind are depicted by metaphorically using animals and her satirical portraits provide a witty and revealing record of society in the 20's and 30's.
