Summary

"Peace and Friendship: Indian Peace Medals in the United States" opens at the National Portrait Gallery. The exhibition illustrates the significant role the medals played in relations between native Americans and the United States President. It brought together for the first time examples of all the peace medals issued by the United States Government .
