Summary

The 29th annual Festival of American Folklife is held on The Mall June 23-27 and June 30-July 4. The festival features "The Cape Verdean Connection," "The Czech Republic: Tradition and Transformation," "Heartbeat: Voices of First Nations Women," and "Russian Roots, American Branches: Music in Two Worlds." A concert is also held in memory of festival founder, Ralph C. Rinzler.
