Summary

Margaret Klapthor dies of cancer September 26, 1994. She served as curator in the Division of Political History at the National Museum of American History. She first came to the Smithsonian in 1943 and retired in 1983 with the title of curator emeritus. She also wrote several books on the First Ladies and the White House China.
