Summary

Frank H. Talbot, director of the National Museum of Natural History since January 1989, will take a one year sabbatical and will not return to his position when it is over. Talbot, a marine biologist, will continue his field research on fish ecology and coral reefs in Townsville, Australia. Donald J. Ortner, curator of the Department of Anthropology, is named acting director effective February 1, 1994.
