Summary

The American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) and the Museum of the American Indian, Heye Foundation (MAI) have reached an agreement in principle to merge. The museums do not know the exact form the merge will take, but preliminary thoughts are that the two institutions would maintain their legal identities, mode of governance and programs, but have MAI move to the location of AMNH. Note: This merger never took place.
