Summary

The Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory is informed by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration that the contract to operate all U.S. laser satellite-tracking stations has been awarded to the Bendix Corp., ending more than a quarter of a century of SAO involvement in the tracking of artificial earth satellites.
