Summary

The position of assistant secretary of the Smithsonian in charge of the U.S. National Museum is discontinued and the administrative assistant to the Secretary, W. de C. Ravenel assumes administration of the U.S. National Museum. In addition, Ravenel is designated director of the Department of Arts and Industries comprised of: the Division of Mineral Technology, the Division of Textiles, the Section of Wood Technology, the Section of Foods, the Division of Medicine, and the Division of Mechanical Technology.
