Summary

The Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute is awarded a $1,029,000 grant for a five-year, multidisciplinary project by the W. Alton Jones Foundation. Research is to be carried out on the west bank of the Panama Canal and will be coordinated by Michael H. Robinson, deputy director of STRI and Gilberto Ocana, superintendent of the Barro Colorado Island Nature Monument.
