Summary

Charles C. Eldredge, Director of the Spencer Museum of Art and Professor of Art History at the University of Kansas, takes over the directorship of National Museum of American Art, left vacant since the death of Joshua C. Taylor in April 1981. Eldredge resigns from the position in August 1988.
