Summary

Bern Dibner dies at his home in Wilton, Connecticut at the age of 90. In 1974 Dibner donated some 10,000 volumes, more than 1,000 manuscripts and numerous portraits and scientific instruments and apparatus. The Dibner Library of the History of Science and Technology, part of the Special Collections Branch of Smithsonian Institution Libraries, opened in 1976.
