Summary

Two new contractors begin operating the Smithsonian Institution's public and staff food facilities in Washington, D.C. They are Guest Services, serving the buildings on the south side of the Mall (National Air and Space Museum, Boiler Room, Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Commons) and Daka Food Service Management, serving buildings on the north side (National Museum of American History, National Museum of Natural History, Associates Court), and the National Portrait Gallery/American Art Building (Smithsonian American Art Museum). Four year contracts were signed on September 17, 1986.
