Summary

Alvin Rosenfeld, Director of the Office of Public Affairs for eight years, retires to assume duties as Vice Director for Administration for the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. Madeleine Jacobs, OPA Assistant Director, is named Acting Director. Prior to joining the staff of the Smithsonian, Rosenfeld worked as a journalist for the United Press, 1940-1945, New York Post, 1946-1950, NBC, 1950-1973, and the Washington Post, 1973-1978.
