Construction begins on a 1-1/2 year project to repair the outer portions of the fourth-floor roof of the National Museum of American History, recaulk the pink Tennessee marble facade and replace some windows, including all the long, narrow windows in the exhibition areas. No exhibit areas are scheduled to close.
