Summary

Another 5,500 works belonging to art collector Joseph Hirshhorn arrive at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. Hirshhorn continued to collect works of art after donating some 6,000 works to the Smithsonian in 1966. In August, the Museum will exhibit "Selections from the Joseph H. Hirshhorn Bequest," about 80 paintings and sculptures and 70 works on paper.
