Summary

Brooke Hindle resigns as Director of the National Museum of History and Technology (now the National Museum of American History), effective June 1, 1978. He served as Director from February 1, 1974, succeeding Daniel Boorstin, who became Librarian of Congress. Otto Mayr, chair of the museum's Department of History of Science, is subsequently appointed Acting Director.
