Summary

"Alice," the Barro Colorado Island tapir, who was brought to the island in 1964 by former Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute director Martin Moynihan, gives birth to a tapir infant, "Peaches Darwin." Alice subsequently dies in September 12, 1988.
