A&I wins AIA Honor Award

PrintThe Arts and Industries Building is chosen as the winner of the 1980 Honor Award of the American Institute of Architects. The award is presented for projects such as restoration, renovation, and reconstruction [extended use projects]. The jury called the Smithsonian project the "best interpretation of extended use that we received." The restoration project was overseen by Hugh Newell Jacobsen and William L. Thomas (Engineering and Design Branch).
