Summary

Director of the National Museum of History and Technology, Roger Kennedy, implements a reorganization of the Museum's staff. The four curatorial divisions are consolidated into two, chaired by Claudia B. Kidwell (Department of Social and National History) and Bernard S. Finn (Department of the History of Science and Technology). A Museum Advisory Council is created, consisting of the deputy director, the chairs and vice chairs, the chair of the Professional Accomplishments Evaluation Committee and the director of the Office of Public and Academic Programs. It is at this time that the Division of Numismatics was renamed the National Numismatic Collection.
