Summary

Wendell P. Woodring, National Museum of Natural History research associate, retires at the age of 88. He retires as the oldest active scientist working at Natural History. Woodring, a paleontologist with the U.S. Geological Survey, began his association with the Museum in 1919 and is the foremost expert in the world on Tertiary marine mollusks.
