Summary

The National Museum of American Art, now known as the Smithsonian American Art Museum, receives 311 paintings, sculptures, drawings, and collages from Container Corporation of America. Artists include Leonard Baskin, Joseph Cornell, Willem de Kooning, Ellen Lanyon, Jacob Lawrence, Rene Magritte, and Larry Rivers.
