Summary

The Smithsonian Institution gives first guided visit of Barney Studio. Studio House was created by artist Alice Pike Barney and donated to the Smithsonian by her daughters, Laura and Natalie in 1960. It is administered by the National Museum of American Art, and was renovated to "evoke its original mood and intent as a place of artistic enjoyment."
