The National Zoological Park's 16-month baby Asian elephant, "Kumari," the female calf of "Shanthi," dies at about 2 p.m. in her outside enclosure in the Zoo. Kumari was the first elephant to be born at the NZP and "one of only about 100 to be born in the country."
