Summary

The National Zoological Park celebrates its centennial on March 2, 1989, 100 years to the day after President Grover Cleveland signed the legislation establishing the Park. Director Michael Robinson welcomes 1500 people who came to celebrate the event, including guests Mrs. Barbara Bush and S. Dillon Ripley, Secretary Emeritus of the Smithsonian.
