A long-term lease is signed by Secretary Robert McC. Adams and Seward Johnson, Jr., President of the Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institution, that includes arrangements for a parcel of land to be donated to the Smithsonian for construction of a marine-science laboratory at the Smithsonian Marine Station at Link Port, near Fort Pierce, Florida.
