Summary

The Hispanic edition of the Smithsonian News Service is launched to provide monthly feature stories to more than 1,000 daily and weekly newspapers in the United States and abroad. The Spanish-language story is sent to 100 Hispanic and bilingual newspapers in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada.
