Summary

At the Museum of Natural History, "Aditi: A Celebration of Life," created in New Delhi in 1978 to mark the International Year of the Child, opens. It is one of the major Smithsonian contributions to the nationwide Festival of India. It will become one of the most popular exhibits ever held in that museum. India is also featured at the Festival of American Folklife.
