Summary

The first Smithsonian Staff Picnic is organized by the Smithsonian Community Committee and held on the Mall on July 2, 2002. The picnic used the tents and food concessions for the Smithsonian Folklife Festival. Entertainment was provided by Smithsonian staff, including blue grass, Mariachi, gospel and blues groups.
