Summary

The Smithsonian Institution Research Information System or SIRIS goes live. The Smithsonian Library Catalog, part of the Smithsonian Institution Research Information System (SIRIS), is moved to a new system, Horizon, after months of intensive work by staff of the Libraries and the Office of Information Technology. The catalog includes holdings of twenty of the Institution's libraries.
