Summary

In his office in the northwest corner of the Natural History Building, W. Duane Hope of the Department of Invertebrate Zoology, National Museum of Natural History, sits at his table looking into a microscope as he adjusts the focus with his left hand. On the table are slide holder trays, and photos of worm body parts. On the wall there is a partial view of a large map. His research focused on the systematics, comparative and functional ultrastructure, and phylogenetics of marine nematode worms. A partial view of the National Museum of History and Technology (now the National Museum of American History), can be seen through the window.
