Summary

Report and planning document that surveyed the storage conditions of collections Smithsonian-wide, including 138 million objects and specimens, 157,000 cubic feet of documents and 2 million books, and prepared the framework for a strategic plan to set standards for handling collections across the Institution. Coordinated by the National Collections Program with input from staff across the Institution and the Office of Facilities Engineering and Operations.
