  • Present: James A. Pearce, Stephen A. Douglas, William H. English, and Joseph G. Totten. Also Present: Joseph Henry. Members not present were John C. Breckinridge, Roger B. Taney, James G., Berret, James M. Mason, Lucius J. Gartrell, Benjamin Stanton, Alexander Dallas Bache, and George E. Badger.
  • The Secretary read the appendix to his annual report. The Secretary presented several letters relative to aerial navigation in answer to the communication of Mr. Lowe. The Board then adjourned sine die.
