- Present: Walter Lenox, James A. Pearce, Graham N. Fitch, James Meacham, Alexander Dallas Bache, and Joseph G. Totten. Also Present: Joseph Henry and William W. Seaton. Members not present were Roger B. Taney, James M. Mason, William F. Colcock, Rufus Choate, Gideon Hawley, Richard Rush, and William C. Preston.
- In the absence of the Chancellor, on motion Mr. Pearce took the chair. Mr. Lenox, from the Building Committee, informed the Board that the work of the contractor might be completed in about ten days. He also remarked on the suit pending between Cameron and Sniffin. A bill of extra work by G. Cameron for flagging, etc. was presented and refered to the Building Committee. The Secretary stated that Mr. Stanley, the artist, had deposited a gallery of Indian portraits which attracted many visitors. The Board then adjourned to Saturday, June 5th.
