  • Kjell Bloch Sandved of the Office of Exhibits, National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), at the commission of Porter Kier, then Director, NMNH, prepared these photographic materials to document personnel and activities of NMNH in 1975.

  • Fenner A. Chace was appointed Curator of the Division of Marine Invertebrates of the United States National Museum (USNM) in 1946 and, during his tenure, oversaw the growth of the Division, the move into the West Wing of the Natural History Building, and the modernization of exhibits. In 1963, Chace was appointed Senior Zoologist in the Department of Invertebrate Zoology, National Museum of Natural History (NMNH), and after his retirement in 1978, continued his work as a Research Associate of the Museum.
  • A carcinologist is a scientist who studies crustaceans or is otherwise involved in carcinology (the science of crustaceans).
