  • Dr. Earl S. Johnston was born on February 5, 1889 and died on December 17, 1949. He was an Associate Consultant and Researcher at the Smithsonian from 1929-1931 and a Research Associate from 1931-1933. Later, he became the Senior Plant Physiologist and Assistant Director of Radiation and Organisms in the Astrophysical Laboratory (1933-47).
