Postcard with a caption on the front above the picture says "Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C. -- Free Post Cards for Service Men [World War II]" and below the picture says "70-foot Dinosaur Skeleton, U.S. [United States] National Museum", now the National Museum of Natural History. The front of the postcard has a white border. The postcard is unused.
Historic Images of the Smithsonian
The National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) first opened to the public on March 17, 1910 as the new United States National Museum. The National Museum was first housed in what is now the Arts and Industries Building.
